So August is almost gone. Wow, where did the month go? Now, looking forward, we have 4 months until the end of the year. And I’m sure that those 4 months will evaporate just as quickly as this August did. Before I know it, my little girl will be tearing open her Christmas presents and the rest of us will be making the same New Years resolutions that we made last year, with renewed determination.
With the end of the year approaching, I have decided to set myself a goal for this blog, and that goal is what I am calling the 100-100-100 mark. This basically means that I want to have 100 subscribers (as counted through Feedburner), 100 followers on Twitter, and an average of at least 100 page visits each day. I don’t think that’s too lofty of a goal.
As of the time of posting, I have 21 followers on Twitter, so I need to gather 79 more followers over the next 4 months. The highest number of readers that I have ever recorded via Feedburner is 9, though lately it seems to average around 5, dropping down on weekends. That one is probably going to be the biggest challenge. As for daily hits, the highest I have recorded in any full 24 hour period is 38, though I expect to surpass that soon.
Considering that I really just started this blog in June, I am not really disappointed in the numbers. I know that sites can take a while to really take off, and I am working diligently at growing my numbers. I’ve already found that my very new Echoes series is helping, and I am currently hard at work on some guest articles for some of my own favorite design blogs, which I hope will drive a little more traffic my way.
You can help too! If you like the content I’m posting here – and I sincerely hope you do – please feel free to share it with your friends and associates. You can follow me on Twitter, or subscribe to my feed! Oh, and if you’re not into that whole tweet tweet thing, you can always become a fan on Facebook.
Shameless self promotion, I know, but hey that’s really what we’re all after right?
Anyhow, I’ll keep my readers posted on how my 100-100-100 goal is going. Hopefully, with your help, I can meet and surpass it! Oh, and don’t be shy. Feel free to contact me, especially if you have a cool website, logo, tutorial or piece of art that you think might be an awesome fit for my Echoes posts. I can’t promise that I will post about everything, but yours might be just what I’m looking for!
So what about you guys? What kind of goals to you set for your own sites? How to you go about achieving them?
