Freebie: Texture Pack 1

I’m back withe another freebie. It’s time for me to give away my first official texture pack! When I have my camera in hand, I am always on the lookout for cool surfaces that I can capture and use as textures in my designs.

These particular textures were all captured during a walk that I went on with my wife and daughter this past spring. There’s some concrete, asphalt, stone, brushed steel and a grungy, paint-flaking texture from an old battered garbage can just around the corner from our place. Here’s a preview:

I’m pretty pleased with the way these textures turned out. I’ve already used a couple of them in some of my design work. Check out my design portfolio and see if you can spot where one of these textures might have been used! Props to anyone who can spot it!

You can download Texture Pack 1 from the freebies section of my site. Feel free to use the textures in your designs. If you do, shoot me an email or leave a comment. I’d love to see these textures in action.

Keep an eye out for more textures, too! It was a long walk, and I have some more cool textures from the same day. I also have my eye on a few other wicked surfaces, so stay tuned. Better yet, why subscribe to my feed.
