10 Fabulous Rogue Illustrations
posted by Matt Ward on Jul 3, 2009.
Here’s a collection of 10 wicked illustrations of the X-Men’s rogue. The styles and interpretations all very, but they are all great images of the southern belle and her trademark white lock.
I always find these posts fun on other blogs, so I thought I would do one myself. Today, I bring you the 10 coolest illustrations I could find of one of my favorite X-Men: Rogue, the southern belle. I’ve always thought Rogue was a pretty cool character. It started when I first started reading X-Men as a teenager (and was, admittedly, probably at least partially hormone-driven), but as I grew up I also came to realize that she really is a very complex and intriguing character.
The isolation of her mutant power – absorbing people’s energy, powers and memories by skin to skin contact – is a stark contrast to her obvious beauty. This makes for an extremely conflicted character who has been portrayed in many different and interesting ways over the years. The same is true of these 10 images. They are all quite different, and all put a different spin on the Rogue character.
Aside from the last image, I found all of these on deviantArt. I tracked the tenth image down through a Google search. Anyhow, if you have the time, check out some of the other work by some of these talented artists!
I’d also love to hear from you, so leave a comment and let everyone know which image is your favorite. Or, let me know what other characters you would like to see posted here, since I’m sure I’ll be doing more of these kinds of posts!
